This program features a hands-on laboratory highlighting a key scientific concept in the current science curriculum so that students get to work side by side with VGTI scientists.
Middle School
"VGTI Grand Challenge" for seventh-grade students
This program presents a genetics "challenge" for students to solve collectively with their teachers in a classroom based assignment. The winning solution to the challenge will have an opportunity to present their concepts to VGTI scientists directly.
High School
"Working Alongside a Scientist" for Juniors and Seniors interested in pursuing science-related careers
This program presents a "shadowing" opportunity for students to observe scientists working in the institute and provides a highly interactive platform for students to appreciate the daily life of scientists in their work environment.

Saturday with Scientists
Fifth-grade students will have the opportunity to learn how scientists work and communicate, explore the role of research in scientific investigations, and understand the process of data collection and analysis. Each St. Lucie County school zone will send 25 students.
